Skilled staff for estate upkeep

Finding a suitable gardener or groundskeeper for estate maintenance is often a challenge. It’s not just about knowledge and experience, attitude, demeanor and behavior also play a crucial role.

At Baneninhetgroen, we have broad experience with these specific and demanding vacancies. We take the time to thoroughly discuss your needs to get a clear understanding of your wishes. Based on that, we search for a candidate who truly fits your estate, farm or country house.
This could be a skilled estate gardener focused entirely on green maintenance. Or an property manager who, in addition to maintaining the grounds, also handles coordination, supervision, communication or simple technical tasks.

We ensure a careful and confidential recruitment process. From the first conversation to the hiring, always with attention to both quality and privacy.

Our colleague Robin has ample experience recruiting gardeners for estate management. He handles your request with integrity and discretion. You can call or email him for more information or fill out our contact form.

Our process

  1. Our collaboration begins with an initial introduction. After this conversation, we like to visit your estate.
  2. Based on our discussions, we write a vacancy tailored entirely to your story, vision and the character of your estate. You’ll review and approve the vacancy before it goes live.
  3. Then we begin the recruitment and selection process. We conduct the first interviews and present suitable candidates via email, including a detailed CV and motivation. This gives you a clear and complete picture.
  4. You can make a selection and hold job interviews with candidates that you think are a good fit. Either on your estate or at our office.

Is there a good match? Great! Then there are two options: the candidate can be employed directly by you or be hired through Baneninhetgroen. In the latter case, we work with a fixed hourly rate. For direct employment we charge a one-time fee.
We also offer various hybrid options. For example: starting with a short-term contract through us, followed by direct employment. We are happy to explain the options to you.

Estate maintenance: the numbers

The Netherlands is home to over 1,200 historic estates. They are often located in forested regions such as the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Veluwe, Achterhoek and parts of the province North and South Holland.
Many estates fall under the 1928 Natural Beauty Act (Natuurschoonwet), offering tax benefits for sustainable management, as long as the estate remains mostly green and is accessible to the public (to a limited extent).

Estates often date from the 17th to 19th centuries. Originally built as summer retreats for wealthy city dwellers, they are typically designed in a landscape or baroque style, featuring sightlines, ponds and tree-lined lanes. These characteristics make them wonderful places to live and of course also to work as a gardener!
